Project Overview:
“Parthiv,” meaning “made from the earth,” is a celebration of traditional Dabu mud-resist block printing. Inspired by the Art Nouveau movement, the collection features intricate motifs enhanced with silver mukesh work embracing maximalist luxury.
Rooted in sustainability, it uses natural indigo dyes and organic fibers. Cushion fillers are replaced with upcycled textile waste, promoting eco-conscious design. The collection includes floor coverings, cushions, lampshades, and placement mats, blending heritage craftsmanship with modern sensibilities.
Creation Process
The project integrates Dabu mud-resist printing with natural indigo dyes and sustainable materials. Embellishments in silver mukesh, zari, and sequins add a touch of elegance. Challenges in sourcing eco-friendly materials led to innovative solutions, ensuring both aesthetic and environmental integrity.
Final Reflection
